This page presents our Registration Policy. Registration for classes or workshops constitutes an agreement with all of the terms and conditions herein and with studio guidelines.
Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and must be paid in full prior to the start of class. Class sizes are limited to ensure the highest quality instruction and experience. We offer classes for most all ages. Register early!
Online Registration (recommended) - Easy, secure online registration via Paypal is available for fast enrollment. You do not need a Paypal account to register. This is the quickest way to secure your spot. To register for classes online, click on the Classes tab at the top and choose your desired class by clicking on the class title. This will take you to our online store where you can register.
Walk-in Registration - Feel free to stop by anytime during normal business hours to register in person via cash, check, or credit card.
Phone Registration - We accept Visa, MasterCard, Amex, and Discover payments over the phone.
Mail-in Registration - Please fill out, sign and send in our Registration Form with your check or money order, made payable to Michigan Art Center, to the address below:

Payment via check will take 1-3 business days to clear before you are enrolled. There will be a $35 fee for bounced checks. We do not accept post-dated checks.
By registering for classes, students agree not to hold the Michigan Art Center LLC or any of its owners, members, independent contractors, employees, volunteers, interns, or students liable for any injuries incurred during classes, camps, workshops, open studio, sales, or any other event, either on or off the premises, at any time.
The Michigan Art Center LLC reserves the right to use photos of our students and/or their work for promotional purposes.
The Michigan Art Center LLC reserves the right to make changes to our Registration Policy terms and conditions and Studio Guidelines at any time, with or without notice.
Missed Classes, Holidays, and Inclement Weather – Missed classes must be made up within the current semester. No missed classes may be carried over to the next semester. Missed classes can be made up during other class times but must be pre-arranged and are limited to two per semester. If the MAC needs to shut down due to inclement weather, we will make every effort to notify students by phone, email, and Facebook, therefore it is imperative that we have your contact information.
Cancelled Classes – Classes are canceled when minimum enrollment numbers are not reached. Students will be notified if classes are canceled and will be eligible for a full refund or class credit.
Refund Policy for Dropped Classes and Workshops – Registration costs are fully refundable for all classes and workshops dropped prior to the day the class starts, minus a $25 processing fee. Classes or workshops dropped the day of or after the start dates are eligible for a studio credit only.
Drop-ins - We do not currently offer drop-in studio time. Student family members or friends are not allowed to attend class or open studio with students to work on projects.
Clay - Students will be provided with clay as needed, up to 75 lbs. for each person for each 12-week semester; however, unused clay does not carry over to the next semester, and under no circumstances does bulk clay leave the studio to be worked on at home, or do pieces made at home come into the studio to be fired. Only clay purchased at the Michigan Art Center may be used in our studio. Clay stored in our studio must be on your personal shelf or in labeled 5-gallon buckets.
Wetware Cut-off Date - There is a wetware cut-off date 2 weeks prior to the end of each semester for students who are not planning on returning for the next semester. This means those students can not make any new pieces during the last two weeks of class. The first of those two weeks will be for trimming their pieces; the last week of class will be for glazing and cleaning off their shelves. Those students who are registered for the next semester are free to continue making wetware thru the end of the semester.
Personal Belongings/Shelves - Students not registered for the next semester should remove all personal belongings from their shelves no later than the last day of class. Unregistered student shelves are cleaned off during breaks. The Michigan Art Center is not responsible for personal belongings left on shelves or in the studio after the last day of class.
Unfinished / Finished Pieces - Students not registered for the next semester - all finished and/or unfinished pieces should be picked up within 14 days after the start of the new semester. The MAC is not responsible for any unclaimed pieces after the 14 days. Glazing unfinished pieces only happens in semesters you are currently registered for.

Violation of any of the terms and conditions herein and/or studio policies or guidelines may cause immediate dismissal from all classes, workshops, and other studio activities, and forfeiture of registration fees.
